GENERAL MANAGER REVIEWS PERFORMANCE OF NORTHERN RAILWAY

New Delhi, 23 April , 2024 – Sh. Shobhan Chaudhuri, General Manager Northern Railway held a performance review meeting with the departmental heads of Northern Railway & DRMs. The GM emphasized that Safety is the main concern over Railways, for which all out efforts should be directed towards maintaining the tracks, rolling stock, signaling and electric overhead wires are working in top order.

Apart from the safety review meeting GM also released a book on the subject Way Ahead for the Operational Constraints of Lucknow Division. While talking about the book Sh. Chaudhuri emphasized upon minimizing human failure in train operation. He directed all concerned that extensive monitoring of rail fractures and rail welds should be done on priority basis and no error should be left.

Shri Chaudhuri also informed that Northern Railway is operating 778 trips of summer special trains to meet the passenger demand. During interaction with DRMs he directed all divisions to ensure availability of drinking water at Railway stations and made necessary arrangements at all major and important stations to control crowds. He further added that senior officers should be stationed at all major stations to monitor all the activities to regulate the crowd in a systematic manner.

He also instructed the departments to regularly conduct training and refresher courses for the staff to keep them motivated and focus on electrical safety on tracks as well as safety in relay and panel rooms for error free movement of trains. He also informed that, loading of food grains & other items have steadily increased with every passing month.
