DELHI POLICE CRICKET CUP TOURNAMENT

New Delhi, 6 April, 2024 –The final match of the Delhi Police Cup Cricket tournament was played today between Delhi Police Officers XI and LG Secretariat XI at Sports Ground, New Police Lines, Delhi. The Delhi Police Officers XI team won today’s final match and lifted the tournament trophy.


The Delhi Police Cricket Cup tournament is the brainchild of Sh. Sanjay Arora, Commissioner of Police, Delhi, who inaugurated the first edition of this tournament in the year 2023 with the purpose to enhance the camaraderie amongst various organisations involved in serving Civil Society.


This was the 2nd edition of the tournament organized at Sports Ground, New Police Lines. Four teams viz. Media XI, LG Secretariat XI, Judges XI and Delhi Police Officers-XI participated in this edition.The tournament was played in a friendly manner in the round robin format. The relation of Delhi Police has become stronger and deeper with the agencies participating in the tournament. To make a more friendly environment amongst other organisations involved in serving Civil Society, the Delhi Police is looking forward to involve other agencies to participate in the tournament in next edition.


Today at the final match the Chief Guest Sh. Ajay Choudhry, Spl. Commissioner of Police/Armed Police Division, in his address praised the tournament and congratulated the winner and runner up teams and other participant teams i.e. Judges XI & Media XI.

The tournament concuded with lot of appreciation by all participants and it has developed integrated system, progressive approach, team work, better understanding and coordination amongst them. It was assured by the participants that the same will be continued in future.
