Facing a tough challenge, Jennifer and Divyanshi showcased resilience and strategic brilliance, especially in the extended game they won 14-12. Subsequently, they continued their impressive performance, securing a 2-0 lead. The Indian pair then accelerated their pace to outlast their opponents, sealing their spot in the final.
The duo will now face Japan’s Yuna Ojio and Mao Takamori in the final, set to take place later tonight in Nova Gorica, Slovenia. Regardless of the final outcome, Jennifer and Divyanshi have already etched their names in history by ensuring at least a silver medal, a first-of-its-kind achievement for Indian junior paddlers at the World Youth Championships.
In the U-15 Mixed Doubles category, Jennifer, in collaboration with R. Abhinandan, secured another bronze medal for India by defeating a Chinese pair, marking yet another historic moment for Indian table tennis.
