Lucknow, 04 March, 2024- Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on Monday, reviewed the Master Plan-2031 of Saharanpur, Mirzapur, Banda, Basti, Amroha, and Firozabad and also issued guidelines for planned development. Major instructions given by the Chief Minister in the special meeting are the following:-
● The objective of development authorities is to guide planned, balanced and rapid development. The focus should be on the convenience of the common man. All development authorities will have to find new possibilities of income.
● Clusters should be developed to encourage local crafts and traditional products. Consideration should be given to placing statues in parks rather than at intersections.
● Efficient traffic management is pivotal for urban areas, necessitating collaborative endeavors. Taxi-auto stands and street vendor zones should be fixed. Land for this should be clearly identified in the master plan. Determine a suitable space for multilevel parking.
● Saharanpur, known as the ‘Gateway to Devbhoomi’, has witnessed a surge in economic activities and residential influx owing to improved connectivity and urban amenities. Well-planned provisions should be made in the master plan of Saharanpur for the development of industrial, commercial and residential activities.
● Selecting a suitable site for a wood carving cluster in Saharanpur is crucial, ideally near the current woodcraft hub. Additionally, it’s essential to allocate space for logistics and warehousing hubs. Authorities should devise an action plan for a new residential project to cater to the general public’s needs.
● The beautification of Maa Vindhyavasini Dham in Mirzapur is going on at a fast pace. It’s imperative to incorporate the newly established medical college and state university into the master plan. Considering Mirzapur’s future requirements, the scope of the development area of Mirzapur should be further increased.
● Basti is undergoing rapid development. A sugar mill has also been established here along with a medical college. It’s imperative to incorporate these developments into Master Plan-2031, ensuring balanced and well-planned growth.
● For the first time, a master plan is being prepared for Amroha. Here, activities like Dholak, drums, cotton recycling, and bindi making are part of the tradition. Measures should be taken to further support and facilitate these traditions.
● Industrial corridor is proposed in Banda; the extent of the master plan should be up to the corridor. Connect Bundelkhand Expressway with it. There is a need to make concrete efforts to ensure that the general traffic of the city is not affected by heavy traffic.
