TAGORE PUBLIC SCHOOL,PALWAL Baisakhi Celebration

PALWAL , 16 April, 2024 – ‘Baisakhi’ the festival of colours, joy, prosperity and spring harvest was celebrated by the children of Tagore Public School, Palwal on 15.04.2024. A special assembly, symbolizing the harvesting of Rabi was depicted through dance and drama. A great cultural morning was filled with songs, Bhangra, Giddha and much more. The hues and traditions of Punjab were very beautifully depicted by the young students of class 2 as well.

The bright stage set up added colour and complimented the show.

In her address to the students, the Principal Ms. Kapila Indu shared the importance of the day. She made the children recite the Hindu calendar months, with special reference to ‘Vaisakh’. She spoke about the festivities of this day. Significance of sweet yellow rice on this day was shared with them. She also told them how happiness is expressed through dancing and rejoicing by the farmers, merrymaking and sharing food with one another.


Academic Director Smt. Manorma Arora appreciated the students for their marvelous presentation.

Sr. Coordinator, Ms. Chhabra appreciated the all participants and music and dance teachers for putting up such a lively show.

Coordinator, Ms. Meenakshi Jetley elaborated the significance of the day by narrating the incident from 1699 when Guru Gobind Singh Ji established the ‘Khalsa Panth’ forthe first time by selecting the ‘Panj Pyaras’, and the beginning of classless society with only humanitarian motive. She presented the vote of thanks.
