New Delhi, 9 April, 2024- Sh. Shobhan Chaudhuri, General Manager Northern Railway held a performance review meeting on the importance of safety, punctuality, Business Development and Freight loading with the departmental heads of Northern Railway and DRMs. General Manager asserted, the Northern Railway is committed to enhancing safety measures, ensuring the maintenance of railway assets, and conducting a comprehensive review of safety and infrastructure work.
Apart from performance review the GM also presented Safety Awards to 7 vigilant employees for their contribution towards maintain high standards for safety and security of passengers and railway property.
He also informed that Northern Railway stands at No.1 in scrap sale amongst all Zonal Railways and Production Units of Indian Railway by disposing off scrap worth Rs. 603.79 Crores in FY 2023-24 which is already more than the annual sale target of Rs. 500 Crores. Taking on freight Business Development, the GM took stock of the outreach of the Business Development Units. He also instructed that BDUs should create an environment of trust, support and confidence amongst the customers. He added that the initiatives and concessions offered by the Railways should reach the clients.
Moreover, Sh. Chaudhuri emphasized the maintenance of railway assets is a critical aspect of ensuring smooth operations of trains and passenger comfort. He underscored the significance of regular assessments and audits to address any potential risks and to optimize the railway network’s performance. By prioritizing these key aspects, Northern Railway aims to provide a secure and sustainable railway system that meets the evolving needs of passengers and contributes to the overall growth of the region.
