31.47 percent voting till 1300 hours in Bihar

Patna, April 19 ,2024 : An estimated 31.47 percent of 76,01,629 electorate exercised their franchise till 1300 hours for the first phase of Lok Sabha election on four seats in Bihar. According to Chief Electoral Officer sources,
the highest polling of 34.25 percent was recorded in the Jamui Lok Sabha seat whereas Nawada with 27.24 percent polling reported the lowest turn out so far. Aurangabad seat registered 33.99 percent of voting while Gaya seat recorded 30.40 percent polling. Chief Electoral Officer H R Srinivasan was continuously appealing to voters to cast their votes as their sincere participation in the polling was important . In Aurangabad Lok Sabha seat, following the report of only three voters exercising their franchise at booth No- 97 till 11 hours, the district magistrate Shrikant Shastri and police superintendent Swapna Gautam Meshram reached the spot and convinced the electorates to
exercise their franchise. The voters, in support of their local demands were boycotting the poll at the booth. The office of the CEO had asked the district administration to look into the issue and persuade the electorate.
