New Delhi, 14 November, 2023- The 42nd International Trade Fair kicked off on Tuesday at Pragati Maidan, with the Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh, Durga Shankar Mishra, inaugurating the state’s pavilion. The Chief Secretary illuminated the Uttar Pradesh Pavilion at the event, exploring various stalls showcasing handcrafted products at the Odisha Handicrafts Mart within the trade fair. He engaged in conversations with artisans, boosting their enthusiasm. Addressing the audience, the Chief Secretary highlighted the upcoming event on January 22, 2024, when Ram Lalla is set to reside in his temple in Ayodhya after 500 years. He expressed gratitude at being witnesses to this historic moment. The Uttar Pradesh Pavilion showcased products from every district in the state, emphasizing the theme of “One District, One Product.”
The Chief Secretary noted UP’s prominence as a focus state for the second consecutive year, showcasing the state’s pavilion as a hub for investors. He praised the state’s craftsmanship, stating that Uttar Pradesh, under the leadership of the Honorable CM, has been actively promoting the export of locally-made products to the international market. The Chief Secretary mentioned the success of the recent trade show in Greater Noida, where over 70,000 buyers from across the globe participated. He highlighted UP’s economic growth, with the state’s exports doubling from 86 billion to over 1.74 trillion rupees. The ongoing International Trade Fair provides an excellent opportunity for investors, establishing Uttar Pradesh as a hub and growth engine for them.
Emphasizing the state’s commitment to water conservation, DS Mishra mentioned ongoing projects from Varanasi to Haldia. Uttar Pradesh, he stated, is progressing in various sectors under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, making it an attractive environment for investors. He cited a recent report from NITI Aayog indicating a positive trend in investments in Uttar Pradesh. The Chief Secretary concluded by expressing confidence that Uttar Pradesh’s economy will continue to grow rapidly and achieve the Chief Minister’s vision of a one-trillion-dollar economy in the near future. Senior officials from the administration and information departments were present at the event.
