Japan’s leading pharma firms keen on investing in UP’s Medical Devices Park

UP delegation informs delegates about the features of the Medical Devices Park and the incentives being given*

Lucknow/Greater Noida, April 17,2023– Japanese corporations have expressed keen interest in investing in the Medical Devices Park being set up by the Uttar Pradesh Government in Sector 28 of the Yamuna Expressway Area Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA).

A state government delegation is attending the MedTech Show in Tokyo, Japan, to attract investments in the Medical Devices Park.
During the inaugural day of the event, notable representatives from renowned Japanese companies visited the Medical Devices Park booth, gathering information about its offerings.

Officials from the government and the authority provided insights into the park’s features and the incentives extended by the Uttar Pradesh and Indian governments.

The exhibition is scheduled from April 17th to 20th

Notably, the Medical Device Park construction is underway on a sprawling 350-acre site in Sector 28, overseen by the nodal agency YEIDA. To secure investments from Japan, a delegation led by Principal Secretary and Chairman of the State Government’s Infrastructure and Industrial Development Department, Anil Kumar Sagar, along with Dr. Arun Veer Singh, CEO of Yamuna Expressway Authority, and representatives from consulting organizations, will be in Japan from April 17th onwards.

Their participation in this globally renowned MedTech show continues until April 20th, 2024. Through this exhibition, significant investments are anticipated from Japan, which is renowned in the pharmaceutical sector. Approximately 74 companies have been allotted plots in the Medical Devices Park, resulting in an investment of approximately Rs 1415.24 crore and the creation of 8895 jobs in Uttar Pradesh.

Representatives from prominent Japanese companies and organizations visited the authority’s booth. Among them were key figures from Posh Wellness Laboratory Inc., Shimane University Faculty of Medicine’s Department of Emergency and Critical Care Medicine, Mani’s Group Co. Ltd., Sousaku Medical, Japan Federation of Medical Devices Association, Silicon Valley Venture, B Dot Medical Inc., International Medical Care Exchange Association, and Toyota Farms.
