Chandigarh, February 18,2024– The Haryana Police has achieved major success under the anti-drug campaign. The various crime units of the district police are continuously cracking down on drug trafficking and are successful in nabbing drug smugglers. The team of Palwal Anti-Narcotics Cell in-charge Sub-Inspector Ajit Nagar has successfully nabbed two accused with a large consignment of 361.550 kilograms of cannabis leaves worth about Rs 1 crore in a closed body canter.
According to Anti-Narcotics Cell in-charge Sub-Inspector Ajit Nagar, a team led by Sub-Inspector Shahid Ahmed, deployed with CIA Palwal, was present at Chandhat Chowk to check drug activities when they received information from a special informer that two smugglers were coming from Aligarh in a closed body container with cannabis in vehicle number HR38V-2089 and would go towards Palwal. Based on the information, the team started a blockade on the Aligarh-Palwal road in front of Chandhat police station. After about an hour, the said canter appeared, which was informed by the informer. Seeing the blockade, the smugglers tried to escape but the police party nabbed both the driver, a resident of village Lahrawadi, police station Punhana, and the owner of the vehicle, a resident of Mohammadpur, police station Pingwan, district Mewat (Nuh).
In-charge Antinarcotics Cell Palwal further said that the canter was searched under the supervision of Nodal Officer Mr. Dinesh Yadav, DSP Palwal, in which 16 bags were found. On opening them, cannabis was found in them. On weighing them, 361 kilograms and 550 grams of cannabis leaves were found, whose market value is said to be around one crore rupees. The police recovered the cannabis leaves and arrested both the accused. A case has been registered against both the accused and further investigation has been started. The two arrested accused will be taken on police remand and the illegal drug trafficking racket will be busted other accused involved will also be arrested soon.
