Faridabad, 12 December 2023 – In a grand event commemorating the 70th Foundation Day of the Faridabad Industries Association (FIA), prominent figures in the industrial sector were honored for their outstanding contributions. On this occasion, industrialists including G.S. Banga, S.P. Aggarwal, and D.N. Kathuria were conferred with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award, while several others were acknowledged for their significant roles in the export sector. The event’s chief guest, Kamaljit Java, lauded India’s emergence as a global economic powerhouse. Java attributed this rise to the visionary leadership of PM Narendra Modi, emphasizing the newfound global recognition of India as the ‘Manchester of the world. Along with this, expressed confidence that India, with its abundant youth power, would become a prime choice for investors globally and commended the impetus provided by initiatives like Make in India, asserting that Indian industries would soon rival China, creating fresh employment opportunities for the nation’s youth. He also added that due to his friendship and love with the Association President Raj Bhatia, he got the opportunity to meet all the members for which he is grateful to Bhatia.
DRDO Director Meena Mishra, also present at the event, highlighted the government’s commitment to boosting industries. She emphasized the need for self-reliance by manufacturing products locally, leading to strengthened currency and increased employment opportunities. Mishra underscored the prowess of Indian industries, exemplified by the successful manufacturing of components for Chandrayaan and Mangalyaan and encouraged a focus on Research and Development (R&D) and stressed the importance of producing products currently imported into India, such as semiconductor chips. Association President Raj Bhatia welcomed the attendees, emphasizing the association’s familial connection with its members. Bhatia highlighted the association’s efforts in skill development and environmental preservation through CSR funds, aimed at bolstering the country’s economy in alignment with PM Modi’s vision.
He emphasized the need for industries to prioritize R&D, new technology, speed, quality, and safety and urged industrial units to enter the international market with superior products, relying on India’s 56 percent skilled and educated youth. Acknowledgments were extended to individuals and institutions supporting the association’s objectives, including Prashant Bhalla, Amit Bhalla, SK Tomar, and the collaborative efforts of Manav Rachna University and JC Boss University.
Paritosh Sharma, Executive of the Secretariat of the Association, said that the credit for this successful objective is the result of the thinking of the senior members which was realised. During the program, industrialists including SK Jain, Shammi Kapoor, Navdeep Chawla, Baldev Bhatia, Sunil Gulati, VK Malik, RK Jain, SS Banga, HS Banga, Mukesh Aggarwal, HR Gupta, Ajay Juneja, HL Bhutani, Rakesh Jaggi, Pradeep Mohanty, Samrat Kapoor, Rajiv Kapoor, Sanjay Gulati, Jasmeet Singh, BP Singh, Rishi Agarwal, Amarjeet Lamba, Jagjit Singh Lamba, TM Lalani, Pappu Sarna, Mohan Aggarwal, Ram Gopal Aggarwal, Pramod Aggarwal, Narayan Prasad Jhawar along with politicians including MLA Narendra Gupta, MLA Rajesh Nagar and Ajay Gaur, RN Maheshwari and many other dignitaries were present.
