New Delhi : Former Union Tourism Minister and renowned film actor Chiranjeevi Konidela has been bestowed with the prestigious title of the “Most Prolific Star in the Indian Film Industry” by the Guinness World Records. The award ceremony took place in Hyderabad last night, where Chiranjeevi was honored for his remarkable contributions to Indian cinema over the past 45 years. The certificate was presented by an official representative from the Guinness World Records. Adding to the significance of the event, Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan shared the dais, showing solidarity and respect for the legendary actor’s achievement.
The certificate presented to Chiranjeevi recognized his incredible work in the industry, stating, “The most prolific film star in the Indian Film Industry—actor/dancer is Konidela Chiranjeevi aka Mega Star, achieved on 20 September 2024.” The honor is a testament to his exceptional career, which spans decades and includes a legacy of memorable performances, particularly in dance.
Chiranjeevi expressed his gratitude and disbelief at receiving the honor, saying that while he had received numerous accolades throughout his career, being recognized by Guinness World Records was something he had never anticipated. “All these years of my film career, dance has become a part of my life,” he said, emphasizing the central role dance has played in his artistic journey.
Over the course of his illustrious career, Chiranjeevi has performed an astounding 24,000 dance moves across 537 songs in 156 films, spanning multiple languages, including Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, and Kannada. His career, which began in 1978 with the film Punadhirallu, has seen him rise to superstardom, earning him the moniker “Mega Star” in Indian cinema.
